ANDOVER, Iowa (AP) -- A second man overcome by manure pit gases during an incident last month in Andover in eastern Iowa has died.
The family of 23-year-old Justin Faur, of Teeds Grove, says he died Saturday at University Hospitals in Iowa City.
Faur was overcome by the gases when he tried to save Clinton County cattle farmer Dwight Johnson, of Andover on April 16th.
Police say Faur called the 911 emergency phone number and then jumped into an underground pit to rescue Johnson, who later died on April 20th.
Officials say Faur and Johnson were in the process of draining the pit's liquefied manure.
Faur's funeral is scheduled for Wednesday.
